My work is concentrated mainly upon consumer-facing companies that have ideas, which are commercially interesting and tackling the root cause of societal problems. These companies range from an environmentally and socially responsible food product businesses to a start-up offering a safe borrowing alternative to consumers that banks and credit unions decline - from a marketplace for affordable, offline classes and workshops led by community experts – to technology that encourages consumers to manage their diseases appropriately and to take preventative actions so they can stay healthy.
I provide investors and financial institutions with information about the signals, which drives businesses that are both financially successful and socially impactful in order to encourage the flow of the appropriate type of capital to startups, small and medium sized endeavors. I also write about topics that startups, and small and medium sized businesses can use to become better informed about generating revenues and attaining profitability, which aligns with doing the right thing for people, our planet and our communities.
My background and experience includes providing financial services and company referrals to venture capital funds; and analyzing the best practices and promising practices of thousands of companies for insights into business models, revenue generation, raising capital, market opportunities, and social impact. I am intimately familiar with the expectations that limited partners have in the funds in which they invest. I’ve also spent time in the trenches helping the entrepreneurs of startups and early-stage companies create financial projections, define markets, examine various revenue models, determine potential capital sources and cope with a variety of business issues that entrepreneurs face on a day-to-day basis.
